Hydroxyprogesterone caproate (OHPC), sold under the brand names Proluton and Makena among others, is a progestin medication which is used to prevent preterm birth in pregnant women with a history of the condition and to treat gynecological disorders.
Proluton Depot Injection is a synthetic form of progestin and has a similar action to the female hormone, progesterone. It is used to treat menstrual disorders in women caused due to lack of hormones. It is also used to lower the risk of miscarriages or premature birth in women.
