Fasigyn is an antibiotic, which belongs to a group of medicines called nitroimidazoles. Fasigyn works by killing or stopping the growth of bacteria causing your infection. Fasigyn will not work against viral infections such as colds or flu. Your doctor, however, may prescribe Fasigyn for another purpose. It is also used to treat certain types of vaginal infections (bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis). It is also used to treat certain types of parasite infections (giardiasis, amebiasis)
