Skinoren cream is a topical antibacterial cream used to treat acne by preventing the formation and spread of pimples and blackheads (comedones) which occur in acne. Skinoren cream also has a potential use for treatment of androgenetic alopecia (hair loss) in men and women.

Skinoren cream contains the active ingredient azelaic acid. Azelaic acid reduces the growth of the keratin surface skin cells that can block pores. This helps to unblock the pores and sebaceous glands (glands which secrete sebum) and as a result the sebum can escape. This reduces the formation of blackheads and spots.
